The Boats
Some of us are battered, some of us are new
The battered knows its limits, as the captain guides
Though she is tossed to and fro, it is strength she finds
She proudly displays her tattered sails
As a courageous reminder of all of lives gails
She lives life with purpose, knowing her place
Sharing with others her broken space.
The new is shiny, fresh and clean
Invincible she may seem
She is known to be hurricane proof, sturdy and strong.
She sails herself, and can never be wrong
When she is tossed to and fro
She acts confident to take any blow
She proudly displays her perfectly pristine sails
To show everyone she cannot fail
But life isn't always what it seems
Below her upright sails are concealed silent screams.
Which boat am I? Which boat are you?
Are you living life aimlessly, or do you have a clue?
Be the change, spread your sails, and let God do!
From my heart to yours,
K.L.E
Deep thoughts, sweetie.
